Fear of the election

The election is tomorrow and anxiety is high for a lot of people for obvious reasons. As the night goes on I see more and more memes, tiktoks, and informative instagram posts on what might happen tomorrow. Will there really be a civil war tomorrow? Well, it’s possible and the things people are saying on social media whether they’re joking or very serious are making it feel like even more of possibility. Even if it’s not a civil war, we can agree that there will be protesting on either side. Businesses are boarding up all over the country in preparation for the day. The feeling of fear for tomorrow is understandable. I feel it too. But, we can’t let it take over us and make us panic. We have to stay strong together. I know, that sounds so cliche but it’s true. We do have to stay strong and in unity with one another. If Trump wins (I continue to pray he doesn’t) we have to continue standing up for equality and love, his possible win will not change God’s plan for us as individuals or as a people to come out on the right side of history. We also have to stay safe. If you need to stay home, stay home. If you have to leave the house, then leave the house prepared for the worst case scenario. And please, meditate, do some yoga, do whatever you need to do to keep yourself in positive spirits and with peace of mind.

Say this affirmation with me: No matter who gets elected I will keep my spirit at peace and my faith strong. Anxiety and fear can not take over me.

“Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭41:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Amen. Xo.
